Early Life and Career
Calla Captain Ventura was born in 1480 in Genoa, Italy. He came from a humble background, but he showed an early interest in the sea. At the age of 16, he joined the Genoese navy. He quickly rose through the ranks, and by the age of 20, he was commanding his own ship.
